Since the opening in 1908, Hotel Moscow has been visited by over 36 million people and around 4 million guests stayed there over night.
Hotel Moscow hosted many famous and affluent people such as Albert Einstein a physicist, Alfred Hitchcock a famous film director, Maxim Gorky a writer, Richard Nixon the American President, Mahatma Gandhi an Indian revolutionist, Luciano Pavarotti an opera singer, as well as many Hollywood actors such as Jack Nicholson, Robert de Nero, Bred Pit, Mila Jovović, Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas and many others.
Jack Nicholson, the actor, was a guest of the Hotel during the Film festival in the 80s in the 20th century, saying that Serbian films were more complex than the Hollywood ones. Alfred Hitchcock was fascinated by the look of the Hotel. Albert Einstein, the physicist stayed over a few nights. He was a regular guest of the summer open air café of the Hotel Moscow together with his wife Mileva. People loved him, and all those who had the chance to sit with him called him “Mister crazy scientist” – which made him laugh.
There are lots of other famous names who gave their trust to Hotel Moscow, such as the French marshal Frans De Pere, Rebecca Vest a writer, Rabindranath Tagore a writer, as well as famous film directors Roman Polanski, Bernardo Bertolucci, Milos Forman etc.
